God's Creation vs Human Creation

I recently wrote a little passage on my facebook page which described God's Creation;

"I was sitting in my bed staring out the window this morning. I looked out and I saw the gorgeous, blue Clyde river gently swimming by. Behind the water I saw the vast countryside boldly presenting their snowy hills and mountains, making you feel so small and almost insignificant as one of God's creations. The beauty of what I saw from my window was endless. I squinted my eyes in desperation just so I could see more.

Seeing all the different colours, shapes and movement just made me realise even more that there is a God around us. This beauty that I see didn't just happen out of sheer coincidence of particles clashing. No. Science is fascinating but place a scientist who doesn't believe in God in front of my window and we'll see how they react.

Could 'science alone' really shape the mountains and hills ever so purely and magnificantly? Could 'science alone' create the water to flow past so graciously, with the ships sailing through it in pure delight? Could 'science alone' really put such a view outside my window?

Is what I see now just a coincidence?! I wish I could in many ways believe that to be true, but only so I could understand why people can't see God's wonders. It's right in front of you! Anywhere! God is there.

What I see, only convinces me even more that God is real and that God is all around us.

Let's not forget however, God created science! Science did make this... but only with God's artistic skills and craftsmanship."

After I wrote this up I was naive enough to expect compliments to come flooding through my page and the be the highlight on facebook that day- oh how wrong I was. It created the most out of hand debate I've probably ever endured.

There were tears on my part, physical threats, verbal abuse towards my beliefs and attitude- it was insane! But it helped prove my previous point to be true: God creates beauty.

Humans create arguments, destruction, war, hurt, tension, fall outs... Godbless those who oppose Christianity- they only help themselves prove our faith to them even more.

  • "Blessed by God be his land: The best fresh dew from high heaven, and fountains springing from the depths; The best radiance streaming from the sun and the best the moon has to offer; Beauty pouring off the tops of the mountains and the best from the everlasting hills;" Deuteronomy 33:13

  • "First this: God created the Heavens and Earth- all you see, all you don't see. Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blankness. God's Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss"
    Genesis 1:1-2

  • "God looked over everything he had made; it was so good, so very good!"
    Genesis 1:31

  • "I look up to the mountains; does my strength come from mountains?
    No, my strength comes from God, who made heaven, earth, and mountains"
    Psalm 121:1-2
